Anomaly Guide#1
Conveyor Slot Count Error
Related Pictures
First determine which device triggered the anomaly by examining the anomaly message on the application's computer console (within the Metalprogetti B2K/BAM/MAP application).
For Uniform Conveyor Systems running B2K
The anomaly record will contain both the CONVEYOR number as well as a POINT description which indicates the faulting device (arm, gate, etc).
For Order Assembly Systems running MAP or Storage Systems running BAM
The device ID is made up of 4 digits - the first 2 indicate the conveyor ID, the second 2 indicate the device ID. In the following examples, XX represents conveyor ID while the last 2 digits represent the device. Main conveyor anomalies will always be XX-00, extraction arm anomalies will always be XX-01 through XX-10 depending on how many arms are installed, and feedrail anomalies will always be XX-11 as demonstrated below.
Main conveyor anomalies will show as XX-00 | Anomaly 1 Conveyor Slot Count Error 02-00 = conveyor #2
Possible Causes Checks to Perform
Garment or item riding high on hanger Check all hangers and verify nothing is "riding" higher than it should. Sometimes a corner of poly, single item tag, or "we're sorry" notice will have climbed up the hanger neck and cause the slot counter to mis-count.
Conveyor belt has become damaged or cracked Examine every inch of conveyor belt and verify there are no cracks, and no slots have been damaged or altered from their original size and shape.
Zero hole or slot obstructed by foreign material Verify that the zero hole and all the slots aren't partially covered by number stickers, dust, etc. If belt has been damaged and unofficially repaired, verify field repairs are not covering any slots or altering their factory width.
Slot counter confused by ambient light or dirty lens Check whether the photocell is squarely mounted on the track and that the clear plastic lens are free of dust debris. Verify no new light sources have been introduced nearby the photocell and that direct sunlight is not present.
Slot counter does not detect zero hole at top of belt Check that the top LED on the photocell flickers on momentarily when the zero hole travels past it. If top light does not flicker, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance.
Slot counter signal not reaching PLC in main panel Check whether an input on the PLC flickers in conjunction with the top LED on the photocell when zero hole passes (will only happen per every full rotation of the conveyor belt). If unable to correlate or detect the pulse, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance.
Slot counter has become damaged or defective Contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance.
