First determine which device triggered the anomaly by examining the anomaly message on the application's computer console (within the Metalprogetti B2K/BAM application).
For Uniform Conveyor Systems running B2K
The anomaly record will contain both the CONVEYOR number as well as a POINT description which indicates the faulting device (arm, gate, etc).
For Storage Systems running BAM
The device ID is made up of 4 digits - the first 2 indicate the conveyor ID, the second 2 indicate the device ID.
In the following examples, XX represents conveyor ID while the last 2 digits represent the device.
Main conveyor anomalies will always be XX-00,
extraction arm anomalies will always be XX-01 through XX-10 depending on how many arms are installed,
and feedrail anomalies will always be XX-11 as demonstrated below.
Extraction anomalies will show as XX-01 up to XX-10 |
Anomaly 17 Garments did not Arrive at Gate 01-03 = conveyor #1, arm #3
|
| Possible Causes | Checks to Perform |
| Garments are not actually arriving at the gate | This anomaly is usually legitimate and can be caused by any of the following: -Staff just performed 'Anomaly Extractions' which results in empty extractions -Garments were placed onto the wrong slot when they were loaded -Garments were manually removed from the slot outside the software -Garments fell off the conveyor prior to extracting at the gate |
| Photocell beam not properly faced towards reflector | Verify the photocell inside the kiosk is properly pointed at the opposing reflector, and the LED which indicates reflection is lit up. One LED should be on when beam is reflected, and another LED should turn on when the beam is broken. If LEDs do not behave in this way, loosen the jam nuts on the sensor and turn slightly until beam is facing the reflector. |
| Extractor missed the garment during extraction | Verify the extractor is properly adjusted by comparing against a similar device, or against documentation. Once adjustments are proper, verify correct phase by using a smartphone to record slowmotion video of a test extraction. To help procure or analyze the captured footage, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. |
| Photocell signal not reaching PLC in main panel | Use the following instructions to determine if sensor signal is reaching the PLC: 1) Turn main power off and open power panel door 2) With door open, turn main power on (see note below) 3) Acquire assistant to actuate sensor on/off repeatedly 4) Observe PLC and look for input LED to flicker in conjunction with sensor If unable to correlate or detect the PLC input pulses, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. To Turn Main Power ON/OFF with DOOR OPEN - Identify the master on/off switch inside the panel (usually a long square rod protruding from the middle of panel or nearby) and then firmly grasp the manual actuator and rotate (clockwise for ON, counter-clockwise for OFF). If unsure or unable to turn the actuator, escalate to appropriate team members. Observe all standard safety precautions and protocols. |
| Photocell has become damaged or defective | Contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. |
