First determine which device triggered the anomaly by examining the anomaly message on the application's computer console (within the Metalprogetti B2K/BAM/MAP application).
For Uniform Conveyor Systems running B2K
The anomaly record will contain both the CONVEYOR number as well as a POINT description which indicates the faulting device (arm, gate, etc).
For Order Assembly Systems running MAP or Storage Systems running BAM
The device ID is made up of 4 digits - the first 2 indicate the conveyor ID, the second 2 indicate the device ID.
In the following examples, XX represents conveyor ID while the last 2 digits represent the device.
Main conveyor anomalies will always be XX-00,
extraction arm anomalies will always be XX-01 through XX-10 depending on how many arms are installed,
and feedrail anomalies will always be XX-11 as demonstrated below.
Main conveyor anomalies will show as XX-00 |
Anomaly 2 Positioning Conveyor Error 02-00 = conveyor #2

| Possible Causes | Checks to Perform |
| Conveyor belt obstructed and unable to spin | Examine every inch of conveyor belt and verify no extraction devices, sensors, or hangers are jammed up with it. If an extraction arm is jammed in the belt, perform the following steps to free the jam: 1) Shutdown controlling computer and turn off main power at the panel 2) With computer still off, turn on main power and push the green start button 3) Use manual rotation knob to carefully "nudge" the belt in reverse to free the jam Two people may be needed to free the jam - one to rotate the conveyor via the knob, and one to "callout" instructions while observing the jam. Observe all standard safety precautions and protocols. |
| Rubber drive belt broken or too loose | Examine rubber drive belt between main motor and gearbox to determine if belt has broken or become loose, replace or tighten if necessary. |
| Power not reaching main motor(s) from inverter | Examine inverter and verify the RUN light turns on and it's display reads a frequency value greater than 0 (such as F20.00). If inverter is not powered on, determine if any circuit breakers are tripped and reset. If inverter ALARM light is on with an error code, contact Metalprogetti Support for further assistance. |
| Conveyor spins but slot counter doesn't detect it | If conveyor spins then suddenly stops, check whether the bottom 2 LEDs on photocell flicker rapidly during the brief period the conveyor momentarily spins. Two people are needed to perform this check - one to push the yellow reset, and one to watch the photocell while the conveyor momentarily spins. If all LEDs remain off, remove rear cover and verify cable connection to the photocell is secure. If cable is secure but LEDs remain off, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. |
| Slot counter signal not reaching PLC in main panel | Check whether two inputs on the PLC flicker in conjunction with the bottom 2 LEDs on the photocell when the conveyor belt is spinning. Two people are needed to perform this check - one to push the yellow reset and watch if the conveyor belt spins, and one to watch the PLC for the flickering lights. If unable to correlate or detect the pulses, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. |
| Motor or inveter has become damaged or defective | Contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance. |
