Anomaly Guide#14
Extractor Not in Active Position

First determine which device triggered the anomaly by examining the anomaly message on the application's computer console (within the Metalprogetti B2K/BAM/MAP application).
For Uniform Conveyor Systems running B2K
The anomaly record will contain both the CONVEYOR number as well as a POINT description which indicates the faulting device (arm, gate, etc).
For Order Assembly Systems running MAP or Storage Systems running BAM
The device ID is made up of 4 digits - the first 2 indicate the conveyor ID, the second 2 indicate the device ID. In the following examples, XX represents conveyor ID while the last 2 digits represent the device. Main conveyor anomalies will always be XX-00, extraction arm anomalies will always be XX-01 through XX-10 depending on how many arms are installed, and feedrail anomalies will always be XX-11 as demonstrated below.
Extraction anomalies will show as XX-01 up to XX-10 | Anomaly 14 Extractor Not in Active Position 01-03 = conveyor #1, arm #3
Possible Causes Checks to Perform
START: Determine how many sensors are involved Examine the extraction piston to determine if there is just 1, or if there are 2 sensors installed on the actuating piston.

If just 1 sensor, understand that in the following tests - the sensor LED should only light up when the extractor is in the rest position. This will require the sensor to be either near the bottom of the piston or near the top of the piston, depending on the direction the conveyor spins during extraction.

If there are 2 sensors, understand that in the following tests - one sensor should light up when piston is fully extended, and the other sensor should light up when piston is fully retracted.
Extractor clapet obstructed by extraction ramp Actuate piston manually (either with manual test button on solenoid valve or with the air pressure off) and determine if clapet can raise and lower without mechanically colliding with neighboring components. If collision is observed or suspected, contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance.
Piston sensor out of position or defective Actuate piston manually (either with manual test button on solenoid valve or with the air pressure off) and determine if the sensor's indicator LED lights up according to the defined pattern above.

If sensor LED does not light up, touch magnet to face of sensor to determine if LED responds to the magnet. If LED on sensor does not light up when the magnet is present - replace sensor and test.

If sensor lights up in response to a magnet but not when piston is in the corresponding position, sensor may need to be slightly repositioned using instructions below:

1) Verify piston is either fully extended or fully retracted
2) Slightly loosen the screw on the suspect sensor bracket
3) Slide the sensor 1mm to 2mm up or down until LED lights up

Once sensor LED remains lit - secure screw and test. Actuate the piston manually several times to verify the sensor LEDs behave as described above.
Solenoid valve is failing or hesitating to shuttle Reset anomaly and watch a live extraction to determine if piston "fires" immediately when a piece is supposed to extract. If anomaly 14 is triggered but no extraction attempt was made - replace solenoid valve and test.
Output signal not arriving from logic controller Contact Metalprogetti Support department for further assistance.
